APC offers the opportunity for residents to spotlight their pet through a variety of Pet Of The Month social posts and live chat via text with a pet concierge.

  • Know the pet policies
  • Be mindful of noise
  • Clean up after pets, especially in common areas
  • Respect shared spaces
  • Socialize and train pets

Generally, at least 10-15 feet

Unless there is a dedicated pet play area that allows them to be leash-free, pets should (and may legally be required) to be on a leash in common areas.  Check with your Property Manager or Resident Liaison if you are unsure.

Provide comfort items such as an old shirt with your scent to soothe them. Leaving treats, toys, and background noise such as a tv, calming music may also help relieve your pets anxiety when separated from you.

For Dogs:

  • Take daily walks to burn off energy and prevent boredom.
  • Use on-site pet-friendly areas or nearby parks for exercise.

For Cats

  • Set up vertical spaces like cat trees or shelves for climbing.
  • Provide interactive toys or treat puzzles to keep them engaged.

For Small Animals (e.g., rabbits, guinea pigs):

  • Allow safe, supervised floor time for exercise.
  • Rotate toys and hiding spots to provide mental stimulation.

Your property manager can provide this to you.  Oftentimes, you will receive this information in your move-in packet or can access it through an online resident portal specific to your community.
